Singapore, 7 September 2023 – foodpanda Singapore, DFI Retail Group (“DFI”) and yuu Rewards Club today announced a strategic partnership to boost the quick commerce (q-commerce) category, expanding the value foodpanda Singapore brings to customers. Under the partnership, foodpanda users can shop for close to 20,000 grocery items combined from Cold Storage, CS Fresh and Giant island-wide, with the same prices as offered in-store. This provides the fastest online supermarket shopping experience in Singapore, where customers can effortlessly browse and receive their groceries within an hour.

Fast deliveries unlocked for savvy shoppers 

A new survey by foodpanda and DFI into local grocery shopping habits has revealed 95% of respondents in Singapore spend close to a full working day a month on grocery shopping alone. The survey found that they would rather use that time with friends and family (73%), on mental and physical wellbeing (70%), or personal hobbies (68%). The most common causes of spending longer time than needed include: going back to the supermarket to pick up a forgotten item (62%) and purchasing duplicates of grocery staples as they did not check the pantry before leaving (49%).

From store-to-door within an hour, foodpanda users can now save time and have their household essentials quickly delivered from their nearest Cold Storage, CS Fresh and Giant supermarket – including specialty items such as premium fresh produce and meats, organic food and beverages, plant-based products, as well as bulky household items.

Fresh groceries delivered from store-to-door 

foodpanda users can effortlessly browse from all products available in-store, order, and receive fresh, quality groceries from Cold Storage, CS Fresh and Giant to their doorstep at any time. Daily updates of store inventory ensures that customers have access to the freshest selections at no additional mark-up. Store pickers are also trained to identify stale products and must ensure that products have an expiry date of no less than seven days – before each order is packed, stored and shipped in quick time to maintain maximum freshness.

Fuss-free groceries at your fingertips

The survey also found that 81% of respondents either walk or take public transport home after their grocery shopping, which is also the aspect that they least look forward to when doing their groceries (70%).

Carrying heavy bags of groceries is now a thing of the past for customers who want to get their groceries quickly. In addition to within the hour deliveries, users may also pre-order their groceries and select a delivery date and time that suits their schedule. Recommended products are personalised based on past purchases for an enhanced grocery shopping experience, and customers can also enjoy the same in-store deals when they order their groceries from Cold Storage, CS Fresh and Giant via the foodpanda app. 

Earn yuu Points on foodpanda

With more than half of the surveyed Singaporeans (64%) citing redeemable rewards as the top reason that will make their online grocery shopping experience more rewarding, foodpanda is also partnering with the yuu Rewards Club to offer users an even more gratifying experience. Customers can now earn yuu Points on foodpanda transactions made across over 20,000 restaurants and merchants in Singapore, at a “$1= 1 yuu Point” earn rate. Accumulated yuu Points can be also used to offset future purchases or redeem Rewards on yuu partner brands, including foodpanda, Cold Storage, CS Fresh, Giant, Guardian Health & Beauty, 7-Eleven, BreadTalk, Toast Box, Food Junction, Food Republic, Food Opera, and more.
